Story Fields at "La Colombo"

.
.
Last week I finished a series of four storytelling sessions at Escuela Italiana Cristoforo Colombo.

I am very grateful to all the people who made this event possible.

First and foremost, to all the 4th and 5th form students, who happily and enthusiastically engaged in all the activities and songs I proposed, enjoying the stories with their hearts and souls.

I am especially thankful to the school staff, who were so welcoming and provided all the help I needed: Alberto - from Audiovisuales, Ms Laura and Paula - the teachers of English, the rest of the teachers who joined in the sessions, and, last but not least, Ms Angela Parisi, the vice-head of the Primary School, who went out of her way to make this event a successful story.

Above all, I am forever grateful to my colleage and friend, Ms Mariela Salto, who believed in, trusted and supported the whole thing.

Thank you Colombo people and so long!

Argentina, Argentina, Argentina!

.
.

.
A few thought on the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

I think this month offers us a chance to get together with our loved ones and share one of our passions as a nation: football (probably with yummy food and mate included)!

It is also a wonderful moment to tell the young ones in the family how we lived and celebrated previous World Cups, and what TV was like at that time.

We can also find out about the hosting country, and its history and culture, and stories - which are many and great!

It is also a good chance to learn new songs, and dances, why not?

But above all I strongly believe it is a great chance to attune as a nation and hope for and wish for something that can make us all happy.

As Todd Parr says, in a little book I love : "It's OK to Dream Big."
The OK Book, Scholastic.

Story Fields at Children's School in Palermo

.

I am very glad to say that I welcomed June, the first really cold month in the year, with a magic and really warm event at Children's School, in Palermo.

I was heartly welcomed by Marcia Kent, the English Coordinator - who is widely known for her work and experience in Whole Language-, all the teachers in the staff, and of course the students!

I am very grateful to everyone at the school and especially to the teachers Ms. Daniela Borlenghi and Ms. Eugenia Dell'Osa, my co-workers and friends, who trusted in me and paved the way for this wonderful experience to take place.

Thank you Children's! Hope to see you soon and share some more stories and seeds!
